Sanibel and Captiva Island
The Sanibel Causeway is now open to non-pass holders (as of January 2, 2023) so anyone is allowed to come onto the island.
I know there are a TON of loyal Sanibel & Captiva Island visitors that would like to support the Islands so here are the businesses open and welcome your support!
A few things to keep in mind. (We know a lot of these are a bummer to hear but unfortunately, this is the reality at the moment).
1. Lee County has reinstated the Sanibel Causeway tolls as of January 1, 2023.
2. Please respect the privacy of homeowners and businesses that are still trying to recover. (We know you all will!)
3. Parking is extremely limited, for info on parking: Home | City of Sanibel (mysanibel.com)
4. Visitors should expect to see hurricane debris on the beach, in the water or in the sand.
5. The city recommends all beachgoers to wear shoes and to swim at their own risk, due to the possibility of bacteria and red tide.
