This is where I spent my childhood and where I spend a lot of my time now. My grandparents bought their home in Matlacha in the 1970s. After they passed, my uncle bought the home. My mom also currently lives in Matlacha Isles, a hidden gem of waterfront Matlacha Island homes. I learned to ride my bike here, I learned to swim here, I caught my first fish here. Matlacha is home to me and home to many special places in my heart.
